Artificial Pink Christmas Tree

Nothing says ‘girly’ like a pink Christmas tree. This is probably why my daughter is so interested in getting one for her room. Pink is a really hot color for teens right now and I am glad to see the spark of interest in the favorite hue for girls. My daughter’s interest in the pink Christmas tree has me planning a surprise for her.

I have always hated the artificial things that pretend to be real. I hate, for example, light food, or vegetarian fake meat. That is why, up to this point, I have always hated artificial Christmas trees. They do not fool anyone, and yet they stubbornly persist in their mimic in a way that I find most irritating and useless. If these fake Christmas trees looked a little bit less like real trees, and more like representations symbolizing real trees, then I would not be so bothered by them, but as it is I can not stand them.

I am very eager to get her this girly object mostly because she never liked the color when she was younger. She announced that she hated pink after I bought her a few outfits in that shade. She wanted to start picking out her own clothes and she chose bright oranges and greens. It came as a shock to me that years later she would be swooning over a pink Christmas tree.

I guess that I never really got over her insistence on getting the bright oranges and greens for her clothes and her room décor. Pink is a color that is associated with youth, innocents and, of course little girls. I guess that I wasn’t ready for my little one to become so independent.

She really surprised me when she started showing interest in pinks here and there. It is almost like she is maturing in reverse. I remember turning against pink when I was a teenager. I wanted to wear black or black after the age of 13. It’s ironic that my own daughter is embracing the color at that very same age.

I am anxious to surprise her with a pink Christmas tree of her own this year. I think that she is really going to love it. There are a few choices that I have to make before making a purchase. The first choice is the size.

The pink Christmas tree is going to be completely my daughter’s. It will be displayed in her room. The problem is the size. I really love the idea of a huge, pink Christmas tree in her bedroom but it may be just too overwhelming. Maybe a table top holiday tree would suit the space better.

I also have to be careful not to decorate it before she has a chance. I know that she is interested in a pink Christmas tree but I’m not sure if she really would appreciate if I decorated it for her. Maybe she could choose her own ornaments and lights for the tree herself. Who knows? It may wind up being pink and black when she’s done with it.

I have decided to put the Pink Christmas Tree in the window with the lawn flamingos that have nothing to do until next summer anyway. Around them, I will put the most bright, garishly flashing Christmas lights that I can find, and decorate the whole thing with cheap plastic garlands hung with little dollar store quarter bin toys. Then my Pink Christmas Tree will have that look that I have always dreamed of for it, that look of uncompromising falsehood. Maybe next year I will get a purple Christmas tree. I can only imagine what wonders I could work with that one! But for now, the Pink Christmas Tree really hits the spot.
